2020 is our ‘Silver Jubilee’ at The Cow & we are celebrating 25 years of trade, a formidable milestone for any business. We have not strayed from our original concept, venerating traditional pub culture, the food & drink of Great Britain & our neighbours in Ireland & Northern Europe.
We specialise in seafood & the bright green neon sign, that hangs above the door advertising “Guinness & Oysters” simply states our intentions. Our enduring popularity stems from the fact that we are dedicated to the traditional values of our country & to the wisdom & craft that has passed through the preceding generations. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” is a mantra we use at work, a philosophy that keeps our feet firmly on the ground.
Our world is changing rapidly around us, too fast for most of us to keep up with & properly digest. That’s why we believe it is vital for folk to learn, appreciate & protect surviving local traditions & cultures.
British pubs have played a vital role in our country for many centuries, & we are lucky to have them, although many have disappeared in the past fifty years, we remain proud to be a torchbearer for our mighty prodigious heritage.
Today, we are delighted to introduce The Cow Comes Home.
